Q#1. What is antibody test?
Ans. Antibodies are actually proteins that are produced in our body to fight against any foriegn particle (virus) which enter in our body and cause harm to our body Antibody test: Antibody is the screening test for the antibodies of our blood, these infection for our body like COVID-19 . It is similar to any vaccine that we take against any specific disease such as Hepatitis ,
polio etc. It build up our immunity level to a virus. It is also called a Serology Test.
The Antibody Test is not checking for the virus itself it is not for the detection of virus , instead it looks to see whether your immune system , your body’s defense against illness has responded to the infection.
Antibody tests check your blood by looking antibodies, which can slow if you had a past infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. Antibodies are proteins that help fight off infections and usually provide protection against getting that disease again ( immunity) Antibodies are disease specific,
e.g measles antibody will protect a person who is exposed again to measles but will have no effect if the person is exposed to mumps.
Dependind on when someone was infected and the timing of the test may not find antibiodies in someone with a current COVID-19 infection. Antibody test can not use to diagnose COVID-19 But if we want to test we need a simple viral test, because viral tests identify the virus in samples form our respiratory system such as swabs form the inside of our nose. After getting negative test we can not surely say that a person can not infected or someone who recover from COVID-19 can get understand,
that’s why it is mysterious for scientist yet. Antibody tests for COVID-19 are available through health care providers and laboratories.

Q#2. How does it work?
Ans. A technician will take a bit of your blood like through a finger prick. The test looks for one or both kinds of antibodies to SARs-COV-2, the virus that cause COVID-19.
I g M antibodies, which happen early in on infection.
I g G antibodies, which are more likely to show up later.
Most people have IgG antibodies about 14 days after symptoms start, it will stay in your blood long after the infection goes away, but exactly we don’t know how long that is for the new corona virus.

In antibodies test we can use pregnancy style home test kit which using drop
of blood on a stick we can not use urine insted of blood because urine is the waste product of our body it does not any substance which will be useful for corona test, however we can’t give any guarentee that this type of test will be accurate or not.
For its efficiency it will be approved by public Health England (PHE) , or we don’t many advance test laboratories in pakistan. Infect many laboratories are not research based.

Although COVID-19 test is not available widely we have to buy COVID-19 test kits from china or some other countries. Now according to our science and technology minister (Fawad Chowdry) we are making test kits by ourselves and very soon we will export it to USA, Canada , South
Africa, and some more countries. Nearly soon will be able to take online appointment for COVID-19 test.

Q#3. What’s the diffrence between a corona virus test and an
Antibody test?

Ans. Corona Virus Test sometimes called a diagnostic test looks for signs of active virus it show’s some common symptom. Through which it can easily be diagnosed,it is very simle and more fastersnd not very typical like an antibody test but it does not work anything elsemeans if yu have virus in your body at the moment when you are tested than only it tells you other wise it is not applicable at all symptoms of corona virus is very similar to common cold or influenza and now a day’s many patient have suffered from malaria but they diagnose corona virus.
An Antibody Test :An antibody test show’s that you had the virus at some point in tha past it could be gone, or you could still be contigious, because virus many exist in our body even after we feel healthy or infection. It is reliable as compare to corona test tell us about long time not depend on present situation it dowws not necessary to have symptoms to do an antibody test it can work. Without all these terms so in this way it is more effective than corona test and easily accesssable in every laboratory of our country.

Q#4. Why do we need Antibody Testing?
Ans. You could have SARS-COV-2 and not known it. Not everyone who gets it has symptoms. Experts have hope antibody test can give health a better idea of how common the virus.
Once scientist know about the virus they find how many people have been suffered from that virus they take ratio of tha poplation and try to find out afterwords effect or concenquences of being affected the virus again, Along with other scientific information this can help rescarchess understand who might be immune to the virus.
This is the hope that people with antibodies to COVID-19 can safely get back to work, and normal life, quicker. These tests many also help with an experimental treatment for COVID-19 called convalescent plasma.
Plasma: is the liquid portion of our blood, or folourless liquid portion of our blood.
Researchess now a day’s are studying to what is the effect of the antibodies in plasma for COVID-19 case , how much is curable for the COVID-19 patients plasma is taken from the patient who are recoverd fever.COVID-19 might help those who are ill with the virus. It is seeing that patients are
recovering faster after receiving plasma, but more research is needed.

Q#5 Are Antibody tests accurate?
Ans: Antibody Tests are not accurate enough to use to determine whether to reoen workplaces , schools, and other places where people gather.

Q#6 Who should get an Antibody Test?
Ans: If you think you might have come into contact with the COVID-19, or if you have tested positive for COVID-19 and have full of recovered, you can probably get tested for antibodies.

Q#7 How can you get an Antibody test?
Ans : Actually, anybody can’t do these tests at home. But they are becoming fastest and widely available in many areas. Its better that ask your doctor or local hospital how to get tested.
